Taka Ohta is the inaugural winner of the Ron Turner Memorial Trophy and Janusz Kordonski is named as the Club’s Athlete of the Year.
The Ron Turner Memorial Trophy was awarded in recognition of 18 year old Taka’s commitment, loyalty, effort and application to the sport of water polo and the West London Penguin Swimming and Water Polo Club.
The Trophy is to be awarded annually to an under-21 member of West London Penguin in honour of Ron Turner who did so much to support the development of young water polo players. It was paid for by donations from Ron’s friends, and was presented to Taka by Ron’s widow, Gill, at the Club’s Summer Party.
Gill also presented the Club’s Athlete of the Year award to Janusz Kordonski, recognizing his achievements across the last year in mens water polo player and masters swimming.
