Penguin’s 28-year unbroken run in Division One of the Men’s National League is under threat after we lost to Portobello and Invicta at Lancaster this weekend and finished the main competitive season in ninth place.
This means we face a play-off at Loughborough University next Saturday (12 December at 4pm in Loughborough) against our great London rivals, Polytechnic who are runners-up in Division Two.
Penguin started the Lancaster weekend above the relegation zone but an 11-15 defeat by Portabello and a crushing 17-3 loss to Invicta pushed us down the table.
