Penguin/Enfield Under 18s secured the London Water Polo Under 18 Division Two title in the final game on 1 February 2015, after winning all four of their matches in the tournament.
Well done to the team – Alex Hammond, Nicholas Birch, Samuel Roberts, Daniel Culyer and Max Jensen (all from Penguin) and Richard Waller, Alex Waller, Charlie Briers, Frazer Briers, Sina Dehnadi, Nikos Chamalidis, Costas Chamalidis, Adam Demeter and Emil Dautovic (all from Enfield).
In the final game Penguin/Enfield played Sutton and Cheam at QE Barnet, with a resounding scoreline of 15-8.
Sina opened the scoring. Our forwards were heavily marked for the rest of the game, and Charlie had three defenders on him on several occasions. Alex Hammond made three amazing saves in the second half.
The ball was moved around the entire team with great passes in for scorers to shoot with. Then, to end the match, Richard led an amazing attack, swimming with the ball from deep in our half to score the final goal with just two seconds left on the clock.
As the list of scorers shows, it really was a team effort: Sina (2), Alex W. (3), Charlie (4), Richard (2), Frazer (1), Nikos (2) and Costas (1).
