Recently, nine of us Penguins headed out to Rickmansworth in search of some fresh air and a wild swimming spot.

It was a warm summer’s day and we all thoroughly enjoyed meandering through sections of forest, along canals, over a couple of locks, through corn fields and of course along the River Colne.

After walking a while, it was lovely to venture into the cool flowing waters of the river to cool down. Our wild swimming spot wasn’t particularly deep but the brief dip was refreshing nonetheless.

We rounded off the day with a canal-side cup of tea at the Cafe @ Lock 81.

Our circular 6 mile route came from the Wild Swimming Walks book and we are keen go on another wild swim adventure soon!
