The Lew Bloomfield Memorial Trophy annually honours a member of the Club who embodies the incredible resilience and “can-do” spirit that Lew championed throughout his decades with the Penguins and the values that he held dear. Inspired by Lew’s own journey — facing a life-altering illness and the loss of a limb with spirit and fortitude, this award recognises someone who has turned personal adversity into a source of strength for themselves and others.
Much like Lew, who was a devoted advocate for members across all sections of the club, the recipient is someone who actively champions others. They are defined by their commitment to breaking down barriers, ensuring that every member, regardless of ability or background, feels valued and empowered to thrive. It is a tribute to those who, through their courage and heart, inspire us to keep moving forward together.
